Can you help me support our Armed Forces?

I am doing the 13 Bridges Challenge

SSAFA stands for:

Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.

Today the charity usually just uses the name SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity, but the original full title reflects who it supports.

I will be supporting SSAFA this summer by participating in a fundraising event in London.

I will be one of four veteran soldiers who served together some 45 years ago! Andy, Neil, Pete and I will be take on the challenge of a 10 mile(16 km) course that crosses London’s river Thames 13 times. That’s why the event is called 13 Bridges!

Many years ago SSAFA helped my family when I was due to be posted to Germany. My folks were both elderly and not in the best of health shall we say? SSAFA made a home visit to verify the situation and recommended that I received a posting closer to home. I am participating in order to repay that good work and to recognise all the great work SSAFA do for members of the armed forces and their families.
