13 Bridges Challenge 2026

I am 13 Bridges Challenge

I am taking part in 13 Bridges Challenge in support of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. On 27th June 2026 I will take the 10-mile challenge across 13 iconic bridges in London, to celebrate National Armed Forces Day and raise vital funds to support our Armed Forces Community.

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. In 2024 our trained teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 50,000 people, including veterans, serving personnel (regulars and reserves) and their families.

SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. And we are here for that person and their family, any time they need us and in any way they need us.

Why support SSAFA?

Monday 16th Mar

SSAFA stands for:

Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.

Today the charity usually just uses the name SSAFA – the Armed Forces charity, but the original full title reflects who it supports.

I will be supporting SSAFA this summer by  participating in a fundraising event in London.
I will be one of four veteran soldiers who served together some 45 years ago! Andy, Neil, Pete and I will be take on the challenge of a 10 mile(16 km) course that crosses London’s river Thames 13 times. That’s why the event is called 13 Bridges!
