I am taking part in 13 Bridges Challenge in support of SSAFA
I am taking part in 13 Bridges Challenge in support of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. On 27th June 2026 I will be walking 10-mile's across 13 iconic bridges in London, to celebrate National Armed Forces Day and raise vital funds to support our Armed Forces Community.
SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. In 2024 our trained teams of volunteers and employees helped more than 50,000 people, including veterans, serving personnel (regulars and reserves) and their families.
SSAFA understands that behind every uniform is a person. And we are here for that person and their family, any time they need us and in any way they need us.

Walk Complete
Sunday 28th Jun I did the walk yesterday on Armed Forces Day. My overnight sleeper was late in so it was a rush to get to the start at Tower Hill and I didn’t set off until 0935hrs but I set up a good pace and fell in with an ex Army Royal Artillery chap and we walked together for most of the walk . It was pretty brutal in the heat which topped out at just over 31 degrees. Walk complete in 2hrs 55 mins. Time for a quick celebration ice cream and then another trek to the Tube which took another 40mins! Then it was over to the RAF Club for a cold shower before making my way to Canning Town and onwards to Queen Elizabeth Park to see Take That. I’ve ended the day having walked over 20 miles. So much for taking it easy 🤣 Share
Thank you!
Tuesday 16th Jun Thank you so much to everyone who has sponsored me on this mad wee walk! I really appreciate it and it will make a huge difference to those Armed Forces personnel, families and Veterans who are helped by SSAFA. Share
Walking to help SSAFA
Thursday 11th Jun I’m in London on 27 June as I’m seeing Take That so I might as well use my spare time to make a difference!!! I’ll be getting off the overnight sleeper from Scotland at 0800hrs and starting my walk at 0900hrs, hoping to finish at midday, get to my hotel, shower and then go and see Gary, Mark and Howard. Probably my 25th or so TT concert. Utter madness but hey - you only live once xx ShareThank you to my Sponsors
